Altizer Park: Softball, soccer, picnicking and a children's playground are available in a neighborhood setting. Shelter may be reserved. (304) 696-5954.

Barboursville Community Park: 460 acres of well-designed landscaped park. Three fishing lakes, ball fields, tennis courts, walking and bike trails, play grounds, basketball courts and picnicking areas. To reserve, phone (304) 736-8994.

Camp Mad Anthony Wayne: Set in a sylvan setting seven miles west of downtown Huntington, this camp features a picturesque lodge that hosts parties, workshops and reunions. Overnight and day accommodations are available upon reservation. (304) 696-5954



Harris Riverfront Park
: Boat races, concerts and romantic riverside walks are all a part of this new beautifully landscaped park. (304) 696-5990.

 

Jefferson Park: Beautiful but small park offering only basketball with no facilities. Spring Valley Dr., I-64 Exit 6. (304) 696-5954.

Memorial Park and Arch: Dedicated to those lost in World War I, this picturesque arch and adjacent tree line park affords visitors and picnickers alike pleasurable opportunities. Be sure to bring your camera! 1200-1400 Memorial Blvd. I-64 Exit 8. (304) 696-5954.

Ritter Park: West Virginia's premiere municipal park, this 70 acre gem, nestled among some of Huntington's finer homes, contains a walking/jogging path, award winning children's playground, 11 hard surface tennis courts, indoor tennis Oct.-May, national test rose garden, outdoor amphitheater and 39 species of trees. 8th St-12th St. and 13th Ave. For tennis call (304) 696-5977, for information call (304) 696-5954. Rotary Park: Youth sports, picnicking and walking in Huntington's largest park containing an observation tower. Also contains the area's only disc golf course. I-64 Exit 15.

Virginia Point Park: West Virginia's most westerly point. This park is located on the confluence of the Ohio and Big Sandy rivers in Kenova. With views of Ohio and Kentucky, its amenities include: overnight campgrounds, boat launching ramp, and the park system's largest group picnic shelter. For reservations call (304) 453-3121.
